Various forms have been accepted as Haworthia turgida var. suberecta by Mr. M.B. Bayer, one of the greatest students of the genus Haworthia. There seems to be a relation to plants with similar growth forms further to the east of Mossel Bay. In this post, and Haworthia as a whole, I shall mostly follow the lead of the Haworthia expert Mr. Ingo Breuer from Germany for using a specific taxon for plants that are fairly uniform within a population, and with macroscopic characteristics "reasonably" comparable to other populations of the same taxon. This aids communication considerably, but may obscure the presumptive evolutionary relationships between the plants.
